↑ Return to Apostolate

The purpose of the Socio-pastoral apostolate is to bring to a fuller expression the values of the Gospel to our society.

At the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, He proclaimed that He was sent to preach the Good News to the poor. (Lk. 4:18)

The mission of our Foundress was an overflow of her long and loving contemplation of Jesus crucified and risen. The more she beheld Him nailed to the cross, the more she felt within her the urge to stretch out her hands in love and service.

As a Congregation we have become aware of our missionary zeal to get involved in the pastoral care of the people which is one of the urgent needs of the Church. It is to take particular care of Christian families and of youth. The Ursulines respond to the call to proclaim the Word, to a greater involvement in the family apostolate, faith formation, empowerment of women and children and providing legal and psychological support to women in distress. By re-capturing and re-living the Charism, we are motivated to reach out to the unreached and become joyful witnesses of the Gospel.
